A Little Salty Postcard

Hello hello,
I heard through the grapevine that my lack of postcards has been upsetting to some people, which is terribly sad for you being upset, but incredibly flattering to me. I was staying away due to the fact that my life has become significantly less adventurous and 100% less Central American, and I know that the last thing everyone needs is one more email in their inbox about nothing interesting at all.

Having said that, here are some random things that are not interesting at all about my life now.

We've been back for about a month now, which is crazy. It feels like a distant dream like, "Hey remember that time we were in Mexico? Oh yeah for like 6 months right? Yeah, vaguely..."

Ryan went straight back to work and is busy busy busy like a bee, I took a week off to hang out with my little sisterling. She arrived the day after we did, so before I even got back to the island, my mom and I zipped down to Washington to pick her up. After that week, I went back to work at the Cafe which is always nice. The staff and the customers feel like a strange kind of extended family - Even though I didn't advertise my trip, everyone had noticed my absence and/or found out where I was and wants to know all about it.
There's a funny kind of relationship that you form with regular customers. You really only get to know this one little part of them that comes in to see you for a few minutes a few times a day, but its it's own little daily interaction that sometimes makes a big difference in someones day.

A little plug for Barb's Bakery and Bistro: Check out the website and its lovely photos (Credit to my Mom) here , if you're a Salt Springer, you can "like" them on Facebook for daily updates including the daily soup and other specials.

I have also been helping my Mother a little with her studio work. If you're on island, you should check out the show hanging in Barb's right now! If you are interested, or know someone who is interested in learning how to make such dazzling masterpieces, GOOD NEWS! There are workshops for that! As is only expected, here is another little promo in the form of a link to her blog which has a workshop schedule and details right on the front page.

The sun is teasing us here, there were teeny spots of slushy snow for the first few days we were back, but now its almost acting like it might give us a summer this year. Not spring, spring is out of the question, what is it, April now? Really. We're still wearing coats and I do NOT approve.

So yeah, the sun is out, everyone is working, the island is still an island, the lambies are getting all grown up and much less cute.

I have already been in the lake once...for about 3 seconds. It was more of a dunk and scramble kind of event really. Annnnd then two of us got sick a few days later. Surprise.

I tried to do a juice cleanse for a few days and cracked when I had popcorn at the movies, but really, I feel like that was an OBVIOUS time out moment....Carrot juice is NOT like soup, nor is it like any kind of food, and is possibly THE most depressing lunch choice in the history of mankind.

And now, here are some things I've been looking at lately, in case you would like some fun things to look at...

Something to make you die of cuteness. Seriously. This. Is a cute video. Take 46 seconds to watch it, and then take another 24 hours to watch it again and again on repeat. Trust me you will want to:

Something to make you smile:

Something to make you think (In my opinion, EVERYONE should HAVE to watch this at some point.):

And finally, something to make you laugh, really:

I hope everyone is having a lovely spring!
